This weekend we will be half way through this year’s SloEnduro series. The Merjasec Enduro in Ruše not far from Maribor in Northwestern Slovenia will be round three out of five.

The members of NLP club have hosted a round of SloEnduro 4Fun series for the past two season and are now ready to move into the “big league”.

On Saturday June 16th the course will be open for training while on Sunday 17th the day starts by shuttling all the riders from the venue in Ruše sports park to Apnica below Areh on the Pohorje mountain.

The exact course will be announced just days before the event. So far we can let you know that there will be three special stages between Areh and Ruše in total length of 6.22km and with a vertical drop of 979m.

“The trails will be even better than last year, we’ve done more work on them, says course chief Luka Rakuša. He is also advising the spectators to somehow make it to Cojzarica hut where they will be able to see two special stages. The riders will also stop there for the feed zone.

There will be no shuttles allowed on training day.

Tim Jež (Kamplc Racing Team) is heading the men’s ranking after two events and there are three riders 90 points behind: his teammate Andrej Bratina who finished 5th in both Kamplc and Krokar, and the winners of both races, Kevin Maderegger and Vid Peršak (both of Sunbikers Mondraker Racing), each with just one start. Both winners may appear in Ruše so it could be an intense race day.

In women’s category Petra Bernhard (Friesi’s Bikery Gleisdorf) is strongly in the leading position with two wins while Davide De Sabbata (ASD Team Granzon) is leading the junior men’s standings.

There will also be a hillcimb race from Ruše to Areh on Saturday.

See you in Ruše!
