SloEnduro series continues on Sunday June 20 near Novo mesto with round two for “big league” points. And there’s a prologue on Saturday.
The members of KD Zverinice club first held the Enduro Gorjanci in 2019. It was a part of the SloEnduro calendar for 2020 as one of the “big” events but because of Corona virus pandemic it wasn’t meant to be. But all is well this year so see you on Gorjanci hills!
Three special stages on Sunday
Gorjanci, the hills in the South of Slovenia, on the border with Croatia, will host three special stages. They are set below Trdinov vrh, the highest point of Gorjanci with 1178 meters above sea level.
The event base with start and finish as well as team and spectator parking will be at Kavce hunting lodge near the village of Gabrje, just some 20 minutes drive from Novo mesto.
Just like Kamplc Enduro this will be a single day event with training on race day (Sunday) only. The riders will be able to walk the track on Saturday from 11 am on.
We will publish the track on Friday evening. The lap with three special stages will be 14.5 km in length with some 725 vertical meters of climbing. So together with morning training lap the day’s climbing will be at some 1450 m.
The youngest categories (U15, U17) will compete on a shorter track with two special stages and 530 m of climbing per lap. Plus they will be shuttled to the start in the race lap.
The training lap starts at 9 am and the race lap at noon.
The prologue
The eager organizers stepped up by holding a prologue on late Saturday afternoon in Novo mesto. The short prologue of Enduro Gorjanci is a promotional event, non-obligatory for enduro participants and times will not be included in Sunday’s overall time. There is also no start fee but there are some nice prizes to be won!
The course starts from town Capitol (Kapitelj) and ends in Loka sports park by Krka river. The prologue starts at 5 pm.
Covid-19 stuff
Participants including team staff should hold negative tests not older than 72 hours or proof of vaccination.
