Event description

Enduro Gorjanci will be ran on trails on Gorjanci mountain range with the main venue in village of Gabrje – Kavce (hunting cabin). The race will consist of three special stages. Training will only be possible on race day. No access by bikes will be possible before that.

Track walk will be held on Saturday, June 19.

City prologue (Saturday June 19)

On the evening before the race there will be a prologue stage in Novo mesto downtown. The times will not be included in Sunday’s race.

This will be a single special stage from Kapitelj to Loka sports park with small to mid size jumps.

Entry for riders is free of charge. It’s a strictly promotional event but with prizes and prizemoney.

SloEnduro rules apply for prologue, including protection.

Covid-19

Required for all competitors and staff: a negative antigen/PCR test, not older than 72 hours, or proof of vaccination.

Race format

All 2021 SloEnduro events will be single day events. Training is obligatory for all riders and will be run same as race. So all riders will do two laps of the complete race course – first as training, not timed, with a more relaxed timetable, then the race run.

There will be three special stages. The lap is about 14.5 km with 725 elevation meters of climbing, so daily total will be around 1450 vertical meters.

U15 and U17 categories will have a shorter course with two special stages and 530 elevation meters of climbing per lap. For these categories a shuttle to start will be provided in race lap.

Starting order

The starting positions will be determined according to the SloEnduro Rules. The competitors will start the reverse order, that is, the number 1 start as the last one.

Categories of the shorter course open the race.

Course description

City prologue: Course walk possible from 2 pm. Surface will be mixed: some asphalt but mostly dirt and grass. Easy terrain for all categories and abilities. Approximately 30 m elevation drop.

Enduro Gorjanci: Three different special stages on Gorjanci mountain, all in forest or grassy fields. Partly clay dirt with roots, therefore slippery in wet.

Transfers mainly on Jugorje – Trdinov vrh dirt road where traffic code applies, some on logging roads and jeep trails.

Course marking will be done on Friday June 18 in stage order. Track walk on Saturday from 11 am.

kendasuperstage

Kenda SuperStage will be organized as part of the race. Organizers will decide which stage is the most special one and will be remembered by riders the most. That stage will be chosen to wear the title of “Kenda SuperStage”. Fastest rider (male and female) on that stage will be awarded by Kenda.

How to get there?

Saturday – track walk: We suggest you leave one vehicle at the abandoned ski slope above Jugorje (45°46’46.6″N 15°17’22.3″E oz. 45.779609, 15.289535) and take another vehicle to the parking by the road to Trdinov vrh (45°46’01.9″N 15°18’35.2″E oz. 45.767194, 15.309764). From there you start the walk of the special stages.

Saturday – city prologue: Use one of the parking lots around Novi trg 8, Novo mesto, and ride your bike to the prologue venue at the address: Zupančičevo sprehajališče 1, Novo mesto.

Sunday – Enduro Gorjanci: The event base will be at Kavce, 8321 Brusnice (45.7871006, 15.2735479), team parking included.

Safety gear

Safety gear is mandatory according to SloEnduro rules. On stages there is mandatory to use: full-face helmet, knee protectors and full-finger gloves. Back protector and elbow protectors are highly advised as well. On transfer riders can ride with open face XC helmet. All protection must be well fitted during the stages, while on transfers riders are not obligated to use it, except for the helmet.

For U15 and U17 categories a back protector or a backpack with a reinforced backbone is mandatory!

General propositions

Competition will run under rules of UCI, rules KZS (Slovenian Cycling Federation) for enduro and SloEnduro 2021 rules.
Any kind of course cutting is not allowed on the trails. It will be randomly checked. Any violation of this rule will lead to disqualification of the rider.
Prize fund according to rules of SloEnduro.
Results of the race will be published on the race venue 30min after finish and later on website www.sloenduro.com.
SloEnduro Delegate: Concerns that everything is in line with the rules and arrangements within SloEnduro (numbers, sponsors, start locations, etc.)
Arrival to the venue will be marked, as well as transfers to the start of the stages.
Race office is located at the venue.
On transfers riders will need to comply to road traffic regulations.
With entry fee payment and starting number pick-up every rider confirms to agree with all conditions of this propositions and is riding on his own risk.
For under aged riders their parent or guardian needs to sign the entry form.
Riders have to take care to pick up the timing chips before the start.
Riding and warming-up on the race course in the time of the event is prohibited and will be sanctioned.
There will be marshals positioned beside the course.
Protecting gear is mandatory according to KZS rules for enduro (full-face helmet on the stages, XC helmet is allowed on transfers.
Kneepads, full-finger gloves are mandatory on the stages).
Protests will be accepted by racing commission in accordance with the rules. It will be accepted by chief commissaire up to 10 minutes after results are posted. Protest fee is 20 €.
Medical team will be present on the race venue.
Race will be run with the use of electronic timing. Riders are obliged to return chip, otherwise organizer will charge a cost for lost chip, which is 50 €.
Organizer reserves the right to change these propositions, any changes will be announced on time.
Organizer is not responsible for the consequences caused by riders to themselves, other riders or third party.
Race course will be marked at least one day before the start and ready for inspection. Organizer reserves the right change the course, number of stages or stage length due to unexpected situation such as bad weather and similar.

Non-licensed riders

They can compete in Hobi category with Slovenian Cycling Federation membership card. With the membership, riders get s the third party liability insurance for the whole season. Riders can order the card at Slovenia Cycling website.
