Round three of 2022 SloEnduro series this Saturday as a single day event organized by KD Krokar.
After Grožnjan and Ilirska Bistrica it is time for this year’s round three this weekend, the second one in May. We are talking about SloEnduro Krokar at Dobrna, Slovenia, a small spa town between Celje and Velenje.
The Krokar Cycling Club from Dobrna hosted Enduro Krokar as a round of SloEnduro 4Fun series from 2015 to 2017. In 2018 they put on their only “big league” SloEnduro race so far, and another 4Fun in 2019. For the history: On May 12 2019 Nejc Huth (Slo) won men’s race from Max Fejer and Tino Huber (Aut) while Yana Dobnig (Aut) won women’s race from Aurelie Roussel (Slo) and Eli Cos (Ita).
This is how it goes this year
This will be a single day event with both training and race held on Saturday. Yes, it was originally listed as a two day event but permits for more trails didn’t come through.
The venue with race office, start, finish and award ceremony will be in the center of Dobrna which is enough information for anyone to find the event in this small town. Camping will be possible nearby.
Special stages are known from previous editions. They run in the forest on dirt and some rocks.
There will be three special stages on the long course with a combined (training + race) elevation gain/drop of 1480 vertical meters. The short course will have 880 m of climbing in two laps and the U13 course 200 m. The training lap is not mandatory only for 4Fun category.
On Saturday training starts at 9 am and race at noon. The trails will remain open for riding on Sunday.
