Round four of this year’s series. After starting in Primorska region (Ajdovščina and Ilirska Bistrica) and jumping across Slovenia to Koroška (Mežica) this weekend the SloEnduro series stops in Zagorje ob Savi, Slovenia.
Last year the organizers from Zagorska dolina cycling club were still rookies buy handled their job well and this weekend, May 27/28, racing returns to Cilenca trails in Zagorje ob Savi.
We may call this a start to Zasavje tour but there’s only one more race in this region to be held on June 10/11, the National Championships in Trbovlje. But we could also call this part of the season »The mining towns tour« with Mežica, Zagorje and Trbovlje lined up.
»We are excited to host SloEnduro again on Cilenca trails,« the members and second time organizers of Zagorska dolina club said at this occasion. »We can’t wait to see how the top riders from the region will handle the challenges this year and who will end up winning the race,« they added.
The field
We had great turnout at the first three races so there is no reason not to expect the same at round four. We can’t confirm international riders at this moment but the top Slovenian riders will be there, there is a very good chance we will see round 3 winner Vid Peršak as well.

The course
Cilenca trails (cilencatrails.si) is not an extensive trail system so go figure where to put four special stages. But the builders have prepared some new sections for the occasion, including a completely new trail!
As seen from the propositions, there will be four special stages on the long course with about 1100 vertical meters, three on the short course with 800 m and two on the U13 course with 350 m.
We will publish the course on Friday.
The venue
The Evropark facilities include everything we may need for the event and the organizers will add a food truck and local bike shop’s service tent. The start and finish venue will be at the bottom of Cilenca trails and on the other side from the pumptrack.
The weather
If you were thinking about getting some new rain gear after Mežica feel free to postpone that investment. It will be dry, mostly sunny and not too hot at around 20 degrees.
