SloEnduro series round two this weekend in Ilirska Bistrica, Slovenia. Includes the premiere of U13 category.
After a successful classic event a month ago in Grožnjan it is time this weekend for the first edition of SloEnduro Borovci. Mind that the organizers from Borovci mountain bike club are no rookies in organization. They have just renamed their Bike & Beer Enduro. They first held it in 2019 as a 4Fun series event, then like most the event was cancelled the following year and in 2021 it was the first time it was held as a »big league« event.
The name is now the only news. SloEnduro Borovci starts in the valley, in the town of Ilirska Bistrica, from where a transfer will lead to the Črne njive trails, the original venue. Then back to the valley, up again and down to the finish. Five special stages on the long course and three on the short one. The course will be published on Friday.
It is a two day event with training on Saturday and race on Sunday. There will be approximately 1100 vertical meters of elevation gain/drop on the long course, 700 m on the short course and 500 on the course dedicated to the new U13 category.
The new U13 category
That’s right, SloEnduro responded to ideas from teams and we are adding a new category for riders under 13 years of age. That means all riders who have or will turn 10, 11 or 12 this year (years 2012-2010). Boys and girls together. Licensed or non-licensed. The first step into enduro racing. The course will be adapted to these youngest riders. They will need to be accompanied on the transfers.

There will be a camping site organized at the venue, including toilets and showers.
Pumptrack opening on Saturday
The municipality of Ilirska Bistrica took this chance to open their newly built pumptrack. It is set nearby the SloEnduro venue. The mayor will open the pumptrack at 6 pm on Saturday.
Don’t get confused by the scouts! They will be holding an event at the same venue on Saturday.
