A new park opened in the area of Poseka ski slope in Ravne na Koroškem last Saturday. On this occassion they held the first race on its trails, the fourth of this year’s SloEnduro 4Fun series.
Vid Peršak (Sunbikers Mondraker Enduro Racing), the fastest Slovenian enduro racer, usually doesn’t show up at the start of a 4Fun race, but he lives close and he won the race with the total time of 4 minutes, 31 seconds and 4 tenth of a second. He was 15 seconds faster than another local in second place, a former downhill racer Blaž Hölcl. Regular SloEnduro top 10 rider Davor Kacin (Kamplc Racing Team) followed in third just over a second behind.
In women’s race it was an all-Austrian podium with Martina Lanschützer (Velochicks.at/Radfux Tamsweg) in first with 6:15.16. Ruth Kalthaus (ASKö Dr Auer BMX Team Mühlen) who earned a wild card for EWS at Petzen/Jamnica with her SloEnduro results this season, was second and Maria Kruger third.
Local XC racer Teo Pečnik (KK Ravne) was the fastest junior of the day with 5:03.14, followed by Anže Bogataj and Jakob Lenz (Radlager).
The 45+ category podium was the same as at Golovec Trails two weeks ago: Uroš Ogris (MTB klub Kranj) won in 5:47.02, over a minute faster than Matthias Lenz (Radlager) in second, Matej Okorn (Energijateam.com) was third.
Just under 80 riders competed on two freshly built trails. All the riders had same training conditions – just one run before the timed run, no shutling and studying of the lines.
We are happy there were nine female riders at the start and no less than 19 junior men.
The organizers from Ravne Cycling Club decided to donate 5€ of each entry fee for rehabilitation of an injured rider.
There are only two SloEnduro 4Fun events now left in the calendar. It’s a long way to go before the next one though: the Matadown, a mass start race from Matajur in Italy will be held on August 4th.
But before that the whole mtb enduro world will have their eyes on Koroška and Kaernten. The Black Hole Enduro, part of the Black Hole Bike Festival, will be held on June 30th and July 1st as round four of the Enduro World Series!
