Great success for the first mass race in SloEnduro history, held by local bike klub ŠD Bam.Bi and their leader Anže Bizjak. It was also a great introduction for new venue RTC Krvavec and their new Rock’N’Flow trail, dropping from the upper to lower cable car station.
From qualification to mass start race from the top of Krvavec
After the morning training nearly 100 competitors rode in the qualifications. The results gave us the starting list for the main race which started on the top of Krvavec at 1850m. There were 5 riders in each row. It was Peter Mlinar (KK Črn Trn), Nejc Huth (Energijateam.com), Blaž Hölcl (Wolf Racing Team), Marko Fink (ŠKD Pank Kura), and Kristijan Medvešček in the first line.
After the mass start there was a tough fight for positions. Peter Mlinar and Kristijan Medvešček were faster on the gravel road than everyone, so they gained some time in the front and raced just between them. Kristjan reached the finish line first with a fantastic time of 15 minutes and 27 seconds. The third position went to Jure Cindro (KD Rajd Funsports). He was a bit behind on the entrance of Rock’N’Flow but he overtook some riders and made it to the podium. Austrians Gerd Skant (Ride TSG) and Cristoph Innerberer rounded out the top five.

Overtaking in women category
The women’s race was very exciting. After the qualification run, where the fastest woman was Nina Rupnik (MBK SportR.si) in front of Tina Rejc and Ana Zupan (Energijateam.com), the three started the mass race among the 100 attendees. But they got together before the Rock’N’Flow trail. Ana started from the back, caught up a lot of time in the upper part, overtook Nina and Tina, and took the win. Tina came second and Nina third.
The fastest in categories
In HOBI category, the non-licensed riders, the fastest was the overall winner Krisitjan Medvešček in front of riders from Austria Cristoph Innerberer and Martin Obernaus. In MASTER 1 Valter Krajnik (MBK SportR.si) won, Miha Vasilenko (Specialized Russia) was second and Janko Bačnar (Pedal Racing Team) third. Drago Pevec won in MASTER 2 category in front of Michael Strohmayer (Redneck Riders) and Gianpiero Petris (SPS Team Maglia Nera). The fastest JUNIOR was Grega Žvan (MBK SportR.si), second and third were Jošt Štrucelj and Jan Balantič (both Calcit Bike Team).
SloEnduro is taking a short vacation
After this race we will have a short break. The next event will be in the last weekend of June, when Enduro Soča will host us in idyllic Bovec. See you there, in Soča valley!
