Overall victory at Matadown, the mass start enduro DH race of SloEnduro 4Fun series, stays at home in Italy this year, Slovenian reecord time untouched. Firt Croatian win in women’s race.
On Sunday mountain bikers raced from Mt. Matajur (1642 m above sea) it Italy right on the border with Slovenia for the fifth time. Mass start, 12,5km enduro track with short climbs and some 1500m of elevation drop. 103 riders took off in two heats, equally set according to the qualification times.
This year’s winner of the SloEnduro 4Fun series race is Italian Manuel Albanese (UC Caprivesi) with the time of 28 minutes and 19 seconds, another Italian Riccardo Nadalin (Technobike) finished second with 29 minutes flat and Slovenian Valter Krajnik (Black Hole Enduro Team) third in 29:02.
Women’s win went to Croatia for the first time with cross-country and marathon racer Gorana Težak (Adrenalina). She finished in 34:42 and was 33 seconds faster than last year’s winner and SloEnduro champion Yana Dobnig (RLM Mondraker) of Austria. Italian Eli Cos (Maglia Nera) in third made sure there were three nations on podium.
Last year’s winning time of Robert Kordež (Black Hole Enduro Team) remains the best recorded on this track in racing with 27 minutes and 57 seconds.
