Kamnik Enduro, the fifth SloEnduro race of the season and at the same time Slovenian national championships is just around the corner. This weekend is reserved for enduro racing in Kamnik, where organisers prepared race course on pretty much known trail with some small changes.
Main venue and Saturday’s prologue
This time enduro Kamnik is moving to city center with opening of the race on Saturday with the prologue on Kamnik streets, which should warm up the athmosphere before the Sunday’s main part of the race. Prologe will be held on Kamnik streets with a start at “Žale” and finish in the center. Exact course will be known just before the race, when the training starts.
Four stages above Kamnik for Sunday
On Sunday there will be four stages on the schedule for the main part of the race. Same as the day before, the main race venue will be held in center of Kamnik, while the stages will be held above the city, under the “Stari Grad”. Stages will be held on mostly known trails which were allready used for the SloEnduro race in 2014 with some small changes.
Transfer will bring the riders towards the top on the road heading for Stari Grad, while some final meters will have to be made on foot, since the road doesn’t go all the way to the top of “Špica”, where the first four stages will start.
Course of the first and second stage will be identical with riders doing it twice in a row. This decision was made to make it easier for the spectators, photographers, filmers and organisers as well. Course of the first two stages start on “Špica” and takes the riders down towards the school center and health center.
The second stage will be followed by a break in Kamnik. After that riders will ride back up on the same transfer as for the first two stages. Start of the third and fourth stage will be held on the exact same spot as for the first two stages. Third stage will take the riders from Špice to the pool “Pod Skalo”, mostly going on the old DH course, same as it was in 2014. Upper part is slightly changed as well as some short parts in the bottom section.
Fourth stage will be running on mostly the same trail as third with slightly different upper part. After three stages allready done this one will be a true challenge for the riders, so organisers picked it up for the Kenda SuperStage.
