For second year the Golovec trails SloEnduro 4Fun race in Ljubljana is also part of Ljubljana MTB Vikend festival. Saturday’s prologue in Bike Park Ljubljana.
The racing part of the first weekend of Ljubljana MTB Vikend festival will be held on two locations: on Saturday in Bike Park Ljubljana in Podutik, then on Sunday on Golovec trails.
This year’s SloEnduro calendar consists of seven events of which only two are part of SloEnduro 4Fun series and are not bringing any series points. The second one will be held on Golovec trails not far from downtown Ljubljana this Sunday.
It’s a very popular event, held for the fourth year. The participation has been the best of all SloEnduro events every time. Yet it is a not very demanding race. There will be four special stages this year with total elevation of under 500 vertical meters and the U15 category race will be even shorter. There will be more than enough time to complete the transfers. The exact course will be published on Friday.
Prologue
Again there will be a prologue stage on Saturday afternoon in Bike Park Ljubljana across town, but it will not be obligatory. Only riders faster than the average time will have their actual race time included in their total race time. All slower riders and those not at the start will receive the average time.
There will be the King and Queen of Bike Park Ljubljana held before that, an “omnium” even with four different races included.
The Golovec trails prologue starts at 4.30 pm.
There will be food and drink stands in the park. Do stick around after the prologue for the Bikehanic Big Line Session as well as a live band.
The festival starts Friday night with a benefit pumptrack session next to the Lepa žoga sports bar, starting at 7 pm. Find out everything about the festival at www.ljubljanamtbvikend.si.
Golovec with modified trails
Golovec trails enduro race is being held on the most frequented trails in Slovenia with thousands of riders riding them every month. That is also the reason why the trails will be changed for the race to surprise even the locals. Parts of newly constructed Nebeška (Divine) and Rifter trails will be included.
Get ready for dusty conditions. And the fastest should get ready for some nice prizes including some prize money which is very rare in 4Fun races.
The race base is at Cmokač restaurant, part of Urban Ring Hotel, just across the Dolenjska cesta from the trails. Race office, start, finish and parking are all set there. The race start on Sunday at 11 am.
The registration remains open all Thursday with some 180 riders from Austria, Croatia, Italy and Slovenia registered by Wednesday evening.
