Record participation at SloEnduro 4Fun event at Ljubljana’s Golovec trails, part of Ljubljana MTB Vikend festival.
238 riders from Austria, Croatia, Germany, Italy and Slovenia is not a record number at any SloEnduro event. 260 riders at 2018 Kamplc Enduro in Ajdovščina remains the overall record. But with still not that many international riders making the trip to Slovenia (there was a notable number of Austrian riders this time though) this represents the biggest number of Slovenian riders at any enduro event in Slovenia. With ’18 Kamplc also being part of Triveneto series, there were hardly more Slovenians at the start then than there were under 15 riders this time at Golovec!
There were four special stages ready for the participants, ranging from West to East part of Golovec trails and ending with parts of this year’s additions, the Nebeška (Divine) and Rifter trails. Just over 100 vertical meters for each stage as regular visitors know. No fourth stage for U15 category. And a hot late summer day on dry and very dusty trails.
The fastest
Many riders from top of the SloEnduro ranking showed up to be a part of this popular event even if it brings no points. In the end the same one finished on top as two weeks ago at Enduro Kočevje – David Ivartnik (Energijateam.com but also member of Golovec trails crew) was 4,75 faster than local Anže Žabjek (Golovec trails) in second place, a former top enduro rider, who took two stage wins. Last year’s winner Matjaž Istenič followed in third.
In women’s race we had the honour of welcoming Austrian champ Petra Bernhard, the 2017 SloEnduro champion, in her return to enduro racing three years after her injury. »Petz« won all four special stages. She was followed by the young Tina Smrdel in second and Sandra Eberhard in third.
Ažbe Kalinšek (Bikehanic – 20 Chocolate) and Ana Inkret (Calcit bike team) were the fastest on the short course. We had a tight e-MTB race, finally won by motocross rider Rok Rus, 5 second faster than second placed Rene Vrecl (Econo bike center) and 6.47 from third placed Christian Vorraber.

There are usually no Kenda SuperStage prizes in 4Fun events, but this time the winners of SS3 were Ivartnik and Bernhard. There were also prizes by Peugeot for the fastest on SS4 which uses the new Rifter stage, Petra and Anže Žabjek took the honours there.
