Riccardo Plesnicar takes the opening race for the host team of U.C. Caprivesi from Peter Mihalkovits and Luca Braidot. Yana Dobnig wins women’s race, her first for new team. 169 riders in perfect conditions.
And so we begin the 2019 season! In great conditions (maybe even too dry this time!) the SloEnduro “spring classic” Go Enduro 4Fun in Mossa near Gorizia drew a field of 169 riders from all four standard nations of the series – 141 on the full course with five special stages and 28 young riders on the shorter course of three stages.
Local rider Riccardo Plesnicar of host team U.C. Caprivesi proved to be the fastest of the day. After winning two special stages of the day he finished in 11 minutes 14.41, 4.05 seconds faster than second placed Austrian Peter Mihalkovits (Radwelt MK Factory Racing) in second place. Olympic cross-country racer and Mossa local Luca Braidot (C.S. Carabineri), the 2018 Go Enduro winner, finished third (+5.16).
2017 winner Stefano Braidot (U.C. Caprivesi) followed in 4th and fastest Slovenian Jan Markič (ŠKTD Avče) in 5th place.
Daniele, third one of the Braidot brothers, took two stage wins after a slow start in first two stages and finished in 7th overall.
Austrian Yana Dobnig (Team Dorrong) won in women’s category in front of Slovenian-French rider Aurelie Roussel (MTB klub Kranj) and Eli Cos (ASD Team Granzon). For Yana, the 2018 SloEnduro champion, it was the first victory for her new team.
Italians dominated men’s junior category with Lorenzo Terlicher (ASD Team Granzon) on top of the podium. He was also the 10th fastest overall. Master U40 winner Francesco Remoto (ASD Fun Bike) finished one spot in front of him.
U17 Team Granzon hopefuls Massimo De Sabbata and Lucrezia Braida were fastest on the 3-stage course.
After a great season start, see you in 4 weeks time for Kamplc Enduro in Ajdovščina, the opening round of the “big league”!
