Third race of SloEnduro series took part last weekend in Bovec as part of Soča Outdoor Festival. After skipping the Saturday’s prologue in center of Bovec due to unstable weather, on Sunday the race showed everything the region has. Perfect weather, some splendid locations around Bovec and happy riders made fantastic atmosphere and unforgettable adventure on the bike.
Challenging trails turned into wild rock’n’roll party after Saturday’s rain
Trails of Enduro Soča where demanding for the riders already at the very beginning, since they were spiced with lots of rocks and roots, but Saturday’s rain made it even harder. For the best riders it meant more fun and bigger challenge, but for most of the rest it was a hard way to the finish. Luckily there were no major injuries and most riders made it through, visibly tired but with a big smile on their face.
Medvešček the fastest once again
En exciting fight for the win was goin on on the demanding trails of the race. First stage was won by Andrej Bratina (Kamplc Racing), but he was in the lead only till the second stage, when Kristijan Medvešček caught up. Bratina lost some more time on third stage, so Nejc Rutar (Unior Tools Team), who was on the start for the first time in this season after a brake, passed him. At the end Medvešček celebrated the victory in front of Rutar nad Bratina. Robert Kordež (Black Hole Enduro Team) and Anže Žabjek (Unior Tools Team) managed to take the rest of the spots in top five.
Women fight went to Tina Rejc
In women’s category there were only two riders brave enough to face the challenging trails. Tina Rejc was faster than Nina Rupnik (MBK SportR.si) on all stages except last one, so at the end she was happy to win her first race in SloEnduro series.
Istenič the fastest junior, Kordež and Štrancar the fastest masters
In juniors category Matjaž Istenič (Pedal Racing) was the fastest rider this time. He managed to win the race with only 3 second ahead of Grega Žvan (MBK SportR.si). Last spot on the podium was won by Maks Trobec (Pedal Racing).
In Master 1 category Robert Kordež was the fastest rider once again. Right side of the podium was filled by Jaka Tancik (Energijateam.com) while Sebastjan Stres (Kamplc Racing) stood on the left side for the third spot.
Primož Štrancar (Orbea Enduro Crew) won the Master 2 category in front of David Taucer (A.S.D. Federclub Trieste, ITA) and Drago Pevec (ŠKD Pank Kura).
Hobi category was won by overall race winner Kristijan Medvešček. Austrians Cri Maierhofer and Michael Brulz took the second and third positions.
SloEnduro season continues Black Hole Enduro, which will be held as part of Black Hole Bike Fest in Koroška region.
