Last saturday it was reserved for the first race of new SloEnduro 4Fun series, which was held in Kamnik. After checking the entry list we were very excited about the number of riders on it, since there was 114 entered riders with a lot of new names on the list. But we were a bit less excited when we checked weather forecast which was very bad. We were optimistically hoping for the nature to have a little mercy on us, as well as 68 riders showing up on the start, hoping for the same. Rain, cold with 4°c and mud accompained them all day long during the race, while the surface was getting worse each round and starting to become almost impossible to ride on some spots.

Razpet in Albanese were fastest on the track

In muddy conditions Tadej Razpet handled the situation best. He was second fastest on the first stage, as well as on the second despite his crash. So he took a lead at the very beginning of the race, which was crucial, as the course was getting slower and slower and times achieved by the riders was getting worse each round. A great work was done also by Nejc Huth (Energijateam.com), who managed to took a second spot after the first special stage and three best times from second stage being calculated into total time, with only 4 seconds back on Razpet. Last podium spot was won by another member of Energijateam.com, Tomaž Oražem. Top five was conlcuded by Stefano Braidot (U.C. Caprivesi, ITA) and Jaka Tancik (Energijateam.com).

In women’s competition there were only two riders with a big hearth who were brave enough to take a battle with a weather. The fastest was a winner of the firs SloEnduro race in Trieste, Giulia Albanese (U.C. Caprivesi, ITA). Second spot was won by Fleur Jeanquartier (Velochicks.at, AUT).

Rest of Kamnik heroes

Beside the fastest riders in overall category, great results was scored also by Gregra Žvan (MBK SportR.si), who was the fastest junior, as well as Andrej Stroj (BK Opušteno, CRO), fastest rider of Master 2 category. Special prize for most resistant rider with the most rounds done was won by Jaka Tancik, who was also the fastest rider in Master 1 category.

For the first time we also saw riders in a new HOBI category, which showed as a good idea. Fastest HOBI rider was a gueast from Austria, Martin Obernaus. Second spot was won by local rider Luka Mlakar, while the last spot on the podium was won by another austrian rider, Helmuth Hollerer.

SloEnduro series will be continued with Enduro Krokar on 2nd of May, which will be held in Dobrna. Entries are allready open.
