There is just the final race, the SloEnduro Grozni on the first day of October left to decide the final rankings of the 2023 series. But before that we get together at the promotional event Enduro Golovec trails at the Ljubljana MTB vikend festival!
Although it does not bring points for the SloEnduro ranking, the race at Golovec in the middle of Ljubljana the most important or even the only race of the season is for many. A cosy network of trails practically in the middle of the city, short and not too demanding special stages, good company, a bit of competition…
This year will be the same or a bit better, the organizers from the Golovec trails club promise. The big innovation of the sixth edition is the expansion to two competition days in two locations!
In addition to Sunday’s stages at Golovec, the race will also be hosted by Bike Park Ljubljana on the other side of the city, in Podutik in the North. There will be two special stages there on Saturday, and then three more on Sunday at Golovec.
Saturday, Bike Park Ljubljana
KD Rajd (another strong Ljubljana MTB club) is preparing two completely new tracks in Podutik. Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., the participants will get to know the trails on the training lap, the race starts at 2 p.m.
On Saturday, there will be a lot of other events happening there, such as the FMB slopestyle competition and the Bikehanic Big line session on the G-Shock line, as well as entertainment, so we won’t blame anyone if they forget about the three fifths of the race the next day…
Sunday, Golovec trails
On well-known and unknown Golovec trails (there will be be some new combinations of trails this year too), training starts at 9 a.m. and ends at noon, and at 1 p.m. the participants start heading from the venue at Urban Ring Hotel to the first of three special stages.
Together, this means…
On the long course, the total “climbing” and descending in two days, together with training for five stages, comes to approximately 1,200 vertical meters. The short route for U13 and U15 categories combines two stages on Saturday and two on Sunday, and in addition to Saturday’s two, the e-bikers can look forward to Sunday’s as four stages, including the uphill power stage.
The weather forecast is good, so dusty trails are most likely to await the participants.
We will announce the exact course for both days on Friday.
Categories, awards
As always, the age categories at Golovec are more fragmented than those in the series, the female riders are also separated into two age categories. The prizes are also nice, including some money purse, which is a rarity.
Details in the event propositions, this includes the registration which is open until Thursday night. If the maximum possible number of participants (250) is not reached by then, you can still apply for to enter.
