As you’ve surely noticed following the rescheduling of the SloEnduro Day Kamplc event and the change of the SloEnduro Borovci race to a non-competitive SloEnduro Day Borovci, we’re forced to making some adjustments to the calendar this year due to the updated Nature Conservation Act. Here’s the latest news from the front:

SloEnduro Won’t be Heading to Gorjanci This Year

Unfortunately, the members of the Novo Mesto-based KD Zverinice club will not be able to host the next race on the calendar, the now-traditional SloEnduro Gorjanci (May 30–31). The reason isn’t just an awkward clause in the law—their first request for approval was rejected, but they didn’t continue the process due to another problem: a snowstorm that severely damaged the beech forest in the Gorjanci Mountains, including the trail area. Foresters won’t be able to remove the fallen trees in time. Due to a combination of circumstances, Zverinice were forced to give up on holding the race this year, but they will definitely be back next year!

Perkmandlc Awaits Approval

We are optimistic about KK Pendalna receiving approval from the Nature Conservation Agency for the SloEnduro Perkmandlc in Mežica (June 20–21). We’ll find out more soon.

Ajdovščina May Also Still Get the “Green Light”

Based on an interpretation of the law obtained by the Slovenian Cycling Federation from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning, the Slovenian Forest Service, and the Slovenian Institute for Nature Conservation, the organizer KK Kampelc has resubmitted their request for approval. Once approval is granted, a new date for the event will be set.

Plus a New Venue

The SloEnduro series organizers are currently negotiating a new, replacement race at a new venue for June 6–7. And we’ve got a few more tricks up our sleeves, so there should be enough races.
