Let’s get ahead of Santa Claus once again so you can all plan your 2025 season in time. The most diligent will meet nine times next year.
The 13th season will see seven opportunities to score points in the SloEnduro series, the Slovenian mountain bike enduro series. One of the events will also serve as the ninth Slovenian National Endurance Championship. Two new organisers, two new venues and one returning event.
Two SloEnduro Days
First of all, you will notice two non-competitive events at the beginning and at the end of the calendar. Ajdovščina and Grožnjan are SloEnduro classics, this time both organisers, DK Kamplc and BBK Grožnjan, will try something new. We won’t give everything away yet, but it will be a fun weekend, with some racing, but no trophies.
From Soča to Drava River
The real racing season starts on 12-13 April in Nova Gorica with a race organised by TCS. They proved themselves in 2024 by organising the first SloEnduro Day and surpassed all expectations, so there is no doubt that they would not be able to manage a “big” race too – there will just be more stages.
In the same month, the Borovci classic in Ilirska Bistrica returns, organised by GKD Borovci. With the tireless builders there will also be new stages.
In May, the Cilenca trail race in Zagorje ob Savi is scheduled. KK Zagorska dolina have already organised the race in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
In June there are two classics, Gorjanci above Novo mesto by KD Zverinice and Perkmandlc in Mežica by KK Pendalna. After two successful events on excellent trails, they have earned the right to host the national championships. The summer racing break will follow.
We will be back on the first weekend of September at Golovec in Ljubljana. Since 2018, ŠD Golovec has been hosting SloEnduro 4Fun races and promotional events with the series, but without cup points. This will be the first time that a “real” Cup race will be held there, of course with a few more stages and still as part of the Ljubljana MTB Vikend festival.
Towards the end of the month, Maribor Pohorje follows with its new organiser ŠD Grabit. Finally an enduro race in Maribor, a long-standing idea that has eluded us for a long time. This will also be the final of the cup series.
We all like to come back to Grožnjan on Croatia’s Istria peninsula at the end of the season, and this year will be the same, except that the racing for points will be over before that.
