Round four this weekend, 5th edition of Enduro Kočevje on the trails of the popular MTB trail center Kočevje. A new trail opens on race day!
Last year it was the second time SloEnduro visited Kočevje and it was the first “big league” race there, joined with National Championships. SloEnduro 4Fun stopped there in 2019 for the first time and local organizers held two more “independent” Enduro Kočevje events before that.
So this will be the fifth edition of Enduro Kočevje, third under the SloEnduro roof and second time for points ranking.
After Kamplc Enduro, Enduro Gorjanci and Black Hole Enduro this will be round 4 out of 5 of the 2021 series.
Chasing for time three times
On Sunday, August 29, there will be three special stages waiting for the riders. All three end at the trail center base. The U15 and U17 categories will compete in two special stages.
The course opens for walking inspection on Saturday at 3 pm. On Sunday the training lap starts at 9 am and the race at 1 pm.
Kočevska orkestra, the local Jamaica ska band, will make sure that course walk will not be your only activity on Saturday, the will start playing at 8 pm. You can warm up by throwing an axe or two.
A brand new trail will be included in the Kenda SuperStage. The builders are finishing it as you are reading this and the grand opening will take place during the race.
The exact race course will be published on Friday.
Top of the charts…
In the overall standings after three races the junior Miha Smrdel (MBK Črni Vrh) remains on top with one win, two second places and 1000 points, followed by Vid Peršak (Orbea Fox Enduro Team) with two wins. Vid will skip the race, he will be en route to EWS. Jan Markič (ŠKTD Avče) is third with 635 points.
Of course Smrdel is also the leading junior, followed by Jernej Kavčič (Sloga 1902 Idrija) in second and Valentin Frey (Im.Puls Sport Union Klagenfurt) in third place. Peršak leads the men’s elite standing from Markič and David Ivartnik (Energijateam.com).
Gaia Kravanja (KK Črn trn) is the women’s leader, Urška Korasa (KD Zverinice) is second and Yana Dobnig (Team Dorrong) is third.

Covid-19
Only recovered, vaccinated or tested have will be admitted to the event – athletes, team staff or spectators. The organizer will be checking the documents.
