This weekend it’s time for round four, the one before last in 2019 SloEnduro season. Five special stages above Rijeka, Croatia. We could get the names of series champions.
SloEnduro, the international mountain bike enduro series based in Slovenia, is heading to Croatia for the final two rounds of this year’s calendar. Round four is taking place this weekend in Dražice near Rijeka.
The crew of Team Rodeo from Rijeka has put on Trnduro four times so far. The 2018 edition was the first on the SloEnduro 4Fun calendar and this year for the first time the riders will be picking up SloEnduro »big-league« points on the Trnduro trails.
The venue is set under the Grobnik kaštel (castle), 15km from the port city of Rijeka, and all the racing is taking place on Sunday September 8, starting at 10.30am. There will be five special stages. The course is 40km long with the total elevation of 1250m. The course will be announced on Friday. But it’s already known which special stage is chosen to be the Kenda SuperStage – it is the new Brlog stage.
The registration closes Thursday night. But already on Monday there about 50 riders from 5 countries riders. The organizers are looking forward to the biggest and strongest field ever.
It’s about the titles
The one before last race of the series could already decide the overall titles. In men’s standings, the Austrian champion Max Fejer (Team Dorrong) passed the defending champion Vid Peršak (Orbea Enduro Team) since Vid skipped Enduro Krvavec and Max won. Vid just returned from North American EWS tour and has yet to confirm his presence at Trnduro. If he misses the race and Fejer does well again he will not be able to catch up at the final in Grožnjan in October. The other Austrian Peter Mihalkovits (Radwelt MK Factory Racing) also got close. In women’s ranking the defending champ Yana Dobnig (Team Dorrong) is close to sealing another title. Tina Perše (Calcit bike team) who missed round one continued with 2nd and a win but can only in theory catch up with the Austrian.
The summer is coming to its close this week, they say. It will last a bit longer in Dražice. So, see you at the biggest Trnduro so far. Rodeo guys are working hard on a big show.
