They say the sentence in the title is a popular Italian saying. So last Sunday at round 9 of SloEnduro 4Fun series in Gorizia, Italy, the riders and organizers could not be scared off by heavy rain in the first stage.
The race held by Unione ciclisti Caprivesi was run regularly all the way to the end despite tough conditions and 85% of riders finished the first edition of Gorizia Enduro.
Three riders made a gap on the rest already on the first stage: series leader Peter Mlinar (Blackthorn), Stefano Braidot (UC Caprivesi) and junior Matjaž Istenič (Energijateam.com). In the end it was the junior Istenič to celebrate his second victory in two weeks after he already won in Kranjska Gora. His total time was 13 minutes, 24 seconds and 88 hundreds, about 10 second faster than Mlinar in second while local rider Braidot had to settle for third after losing a minute in crashes in stage three.
Lorenzo Carlet (Caprivesi) was 4th fastest and winner of elitemaster category. Miha Spruk was 5th overall and won the master 1 category.
Grega Nagode (Energijateam.com) took another win in master 2 while Lorenzo Orlando (3 Stars) won the masters 3 despite a hard crash. Giulia Albanese (Caprivesi) was the only woman in the race, finishing 21st overall. Davide De Sabata (Granzon) was the fastest in U17 category.
Now there is only the final race left in 4Fun series, the Mecsek Enduro on October 2nd in Komló in Baranya, Hungary, not far from the city of Pécs.
