Fifth and final round of »big league« this season. The classic venue in Istria is preparing five special stages, all will be held on Sunday. Some battles for titles remain open.

After Kamplc in Ajdovščina, Black Hole Enduro in Koroška, Enduro Krvavec and Trnduro in Dražice near Rijeka – plus the nine SloEnduro 4Fun series events – SloEnduro ends this weekend with Enduro Grozni in Grožnjan, Istria, Croatia.

Grožnjan has hosted the SloEnduro final every year since the start in 2013, except two years ago when the series started with Enduro Grozni.

This Sunday the international field will check their speed on five special stages. Including the transfers, they will ride for some 35km with climbs and descents total of approximately 12500m. They will be getting to know the course on Friday and Saturday. The course will be published on Thursday.

Registration remains open until Thursday night. At the time of publication of this preview there are riders from all »standard« SloEnduro countries on the list: Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia.

Who gets to raise the trophy?

The young Austrian Max Fejer (Team Dorrong) is in the overall lead. In his first elite season Max won at Krvavec and Trnduro while out of SloEnduro he also became the Austrian champion. After winning the first two races, the four-time SloEnduro champ Slovenian Vid Peršak (Orbea Enduro Team) skipped Krvavec for EWS races, then finished second behind Fejer after snapping his chain at Trnduro. Vid is now 250 points behind Max. Even if Vid wins in Grožnjan, Max just has to finish in first nine positions to keep his lead. Another Austrian Max Trafella (Do-Biker Bruck/Mur) is third, but already 530 down on Fejer and 380 on Peršak.

In women’s standings, the defending champ from Austria Yana Dobnig (Team Dorrong) only has 100 points more than Slovenian Tina Perše (Calcit Bike Team) so we are to witness a duel for the title. In men’s junior standings Slovenian Aljaž Černigoj (Kamplc Racing Team) is relatively safe from Austrian Christoph Sax (908 and 650 points respectively), Croatian Alen Smolić (BBK Team Rodeo) is third with 560 points from just two races.

In men’s masters, it’s like this: in Masters 1 Austrian Peter Pingtzer (Rdnk Racing) is in front of co-nationals Tino Huber and Paul Heimel; in Masters 2 we may see a battle between Slovenian Gregor Nagode ( and Austrian Walter Zeidler (Bikeclub Giant Stattegg) who is just 100 points behind; and Slovenian Martin Brus (Kamplc Racing Team) already pocketed the title in Master 3. Pretty much the same goes for Hobi class and Austrian Daniel Apreutesei (Radlager Mountainbikeverein).
